While in the Big Apple, I had a chance to stumble upon a Lululemon fitness clothing store (there is also one in Aventura, in North Miami). They give quality workout clothing a new name, but the price tag is steep. I didn’t purchase anything at the store, but took a look at their sizing so I could shop online should I feel like being overly indulgent one day…Mitch grabbed me a Physique 57 schedule while we were in there. Damn, they have classes from before sun-up to after sundown every single day. With only one day in the city, I was definitely NOT going to take a class, but I was amazed at how many they offer. I don’t think I have ever seen as full a schedule of classes ANYWHERE, but then again, that’s how they roll in NYC. I also stopped into Capezio which was my favorite store for decades. With mostly kids stuff (and absolutely precious) and lots of tight leotards, this store was clearly no longer for me but I remember why I once loved it soooooooo!
Well, today begins my second tour with P90x. Last summer I was so committed to it. This summer I want to continue to work on my swimming (yesterday I was up to 14 laps) at least 3 days a week and do Physique 57 once a week so I am going to try to squeeze in the ab routine (which is killer but only 16 minutes) several times a week, rededicate Thursdays to the yoga video and start hitting some pull-ups on the bar again and ????? After just a few days of eating and drinking my way through the Empire State, I am ready to get back on track.
I read a letter to the editor this morning about how kids snubbed the vegan choices on the school menu. The writer suggests that the vegan options need better presentation. Someone should call the Gilded Otter in New Paltz, NY and ask them the recipe for the ravioli I had Friday night. I have NO doubt the kids would choose that over most anything! Change is never easy, but its almost always a good thing!
Off to make a hearty breakfast before I start my day. I hope you’ll do the same! Breakfast is the fuel our bodies NEED to perform at their peak. I want peak performance today. How about you?
