As we all move through our days, trying to make some sort of sense out of senseless killing, wondering what we can do, let’s all consider what some others are doing to restore faith in humanity–random acts of kindness. One of my public school friends lives in the Sandy Hook community and posted on FaceBook that when she went to The Hook, the restaurant she works at, a women from Texas called and asked to buy a random person dinner. Apparently, there was a man at the bar who looked like he had been crying and he was chosen–he said he hadn’t eaten in days…then the woman from Texas added a 20.00 tip. She said she just wanted to do something nice for Sandy Hook. Someone from California called a cafe and paid for coffee for everyone. These acts restore faith in the human soul…We all have the ability to help spread the faith. Even a smile can turn someone’s day around. If you hear of some awesome acts of kindness, feel free to share them on here as we can all use the feel good stories.
Thanks to all my students for their (as always) incredible generosity at this holiday time. Every year you spoil me beyond words. Thanks to Shelli and Ursula for putting together that gift and thanks, Shelli, for going out of your way to get it to me last night. Thanks, also to those that penned beautiful words. I appreciate each and every one of you and look forward to the next year together sharing health, fitness and so much more.
I am off to work, and all the while I will be looking for ways to give back. After tomorrow things are going to get a little holiday crazy, so please don’t be concerned if I don’t post daily. As with all of us, things get a little crazy between now and the new year, but once that comes around, I’ll be back with a vengeance both here and at the gym….for more peace and fitness are always at the top of my new year’s goals. Keep shining and spreading your light…and always remember we are ALL connected.
