Good morning and happy Saturday. The wine tasting was fun. Always great to see some gym friends, taste some new wines (and spirits and bubbly!). I am sure the champagne was my favorite last night. There is always a fee to get in the door, but the real price paid will be this morning when I sweat it all out at the gym. BUT, I WILL SWEAT IT ALL OUT!
Though I thought I might try to do something special yesterday (my last complete Friday off till ?? and Friday the 13th) nothing out of the norm, materialized. Though I was disappointed, I realize that sometimes other people have to work when I am off…and sometimes I am working when others are off. Just the nature of the NOT 9-5 business, which I would not trade for the world. I sat for a bit in my client/friend’s gorgeous backyard and just meditated for a while, which was quite peaceful. I came away with the realization that sometimes I have to make “appointments” with the important people in my life, and treat those appointments with the same respect I treat my work appointments. Being a Capricorn, I am often TOO committed to my work and though a good work ethic is very important, the same should hold true for plans made outside of work.
Swam 30 laps back at home before getting ready for the evening. Last summer I was in the best shape of my life doing P90x. This summer, I couldn’t quite wrap my arms around it, again, but have loved doing more yoga and swimming several times a week. I realize that even if I get a heater for the pool, once my fall schedule begins, I wont necessarily have time or energy to hit the pool…or maybe I would. Hmmmm.
As the Miami Dolphins play their first pre-season home game tonight, as teachers prepare to go back to work, as the sunset grows earlier each day, I am saddened that summer is winding down. While my friends in other parts of the country adore the change in seasons, I could be very happy with a 10 month summer and a few weeks of cooler temps so I can wear my Uggs once and a while. In many ways, this is what we have in Florida. If only the days could stay long.
