For those that are interested in the interview on the Today Show this morning here is the link
Ok. So quite a few people have mentioned how long it’s been since I have blogged. Thanks for asking! Turns out it has been longer than I even thought! I took a bunch of time to focus on introspect and meditation in the morning, instead of blah, blah, blahging, and along the way, came to understand how sometimes it really helps to just SHUT UP and listen. Not just listening to others, but listening to one’s own soul. That is the mode I am still in.
That does NOT in any way mean my passion for peace, health, fitness or nutrition has dwindled. In fact, I am reminded more and more of how important all of those things are, each and every day.
My hope is to soon find that happy medium where I can share information with you and not get obsessed with writing EVERY morning, as I did for years. For today, I will leave you with this little meme I found that I thought had some good advice in it’s simple acronyms. Hope you are taking care of yourselves, each other, the animals and the planet. We are ALL connected.
This one is for my students…….
I will be teaching all my regularly scheduled classes this week (Monday – Saturday) and additionally I will be subbing for Ellen at 10 on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
Friday morning there will be NO Low Impact at 8:30 and NO SilverSneakers at 10–those are the only 2 classes of Ellen’s that I am unable to sub this week (so if you want to get in a SS class this Friday the 13th, come on in at 11:30)
It’s been nice seeing classes so full since the new year! Keep up your resolutions. When it get’s tough staying with them, remember why you made them in the first place!!!! You owe it to yourself and your loved ones to be the best you possible!
If you know me, or read my blog, you know I am much softer than the above quote. But it’s true! Stop looking for secrets and start moving. Today is SOMEDAY! Let’s get busy!
This morning I am motivated by Hugo Radelat, Kyle’s best friend Eric’s dad, who completed the Ironman Augusta yesterday! Congrats to you Hugo! I am motivated by Rose Brickman who blew it out in the NGA Champions & Challengers Pro/Am 2014.
Mostly, however, I am motivated by those that wake up physically challenged and still set out to accomplish goals that others might consider impossible….individuals like my public school friend Jan’s son, Levi, who lost a leg after a motorcycle accident a few years ago and went on to train for triathlons. Just last week he came in 3rd place in the Tempe para-triathlon. All of these people inspire me to push myself every day and I am grateful to be impacted by all of them.
Get out of your own head and let your body show you just how much it is capable of. It will change your head in ways you never thought possible. Go get em!
Last night we attended an event that no one ever wants to attend. Ever. Dillon Joseph Brooks slipped away, apparently with his usual smile on his face, last Saturday. Only 9 years old, he impacted the community to the point that about 1000 people were in attendance at the service and celebration of his life. Dillon was diagnosed with a very aggressive brain tumor last August and though his parents had the ability to bring him to the best facilities and the best doctors in the country, the cancer could not be beat. We learned that Dillon never cried, never asked why and loved tacos, Starburst, bright colors, loud music, fireworks and bendy straws as well as his dad and mom, who never left his side. What amazing job they did last night in honor of their son who never wanted people to cry. Our hearts are with his parents, siblings and the rest of the family as they navigate through these difficult days and hope they are finding some peace in knowing that there are no more surgeries, no more doctors, no more hospitals and no more suffering for their baby.
Tomorrow we celebrate my future daughter’s (I just don’t really like the word daughter-in-law) bridal shower and girls night. This is a huge day of celebration and kicks off the 2 week countdown till the night they say “I do.”
This is the circle of life. The roller coaster we ride. Through the darkest days and the brightest nights, love is always the answer. It’s what we all have to give and there is an endless supply….Let’s all love each other just a little more today and then wake up and repeat….over and over again.
Thanks for posting this one Wendie. Where else can you get 50 benefits like these at the same time?
