“Do not let Sunday be taken from you If your soul has no Sunday, it becomes an orphan.”
When I was a kid, I didn’t care much for Sundays. It was the day that reminded me the weekend was coming to an end. Though I always loved the social aspect of school and did well academically, I guess in my heart and soul I always longed for the freedom that came along with weekends.
Having since learned to not only savor each and every day, but find something that makes each one special, I now love Sundays. They are the day that gives the rest of the week balance. On most Sundays, I choose to do as little as possible, sometimes not even leaving the house. For me, it’s a day to eat clean, drink lots of water, (aka clean out from Friday and Saturday) catch up on some recorded TV shows, nap and spend quality time with Mitch and above all else do NO strenuous exercise!!!
So now, I cherish Sunday and love it for all the peace it brings to my life. I hope that you give yourself a chunk of time to kick back and relax, too. Your work week might require a different type of balance on the weekends, than mine. Find YOUR balance. In this world that spins way too quickly, sometimes we need to just “stop the world and get off!”
Balance. Strive for it in all aspects of your life. Stress is a killer. De-stressing is the life raft. Grab a raft and float–figuratively and maybe even literally! At least here in South Florida, summer is far from over, yet!
