Every spring is the only spring – a perpetual astonishment. ~Ellis Peters
Well good morning. Happy Saturday and most importantly, HAPPY SPRING! If ever Americans have wished and waited for spring, it would be this year. Even here in sunny South Florida, we are still wearing sweatshirts and waking up to 50 degree temperatures (not that I am complaining). Without winter, we wouldn’t appreciate spring as much, so this year we rejoice just a little more.
When I think “spring,” many thoughts pop into my head. I woke up thinking about all of them. From bunny rabbits and matzohs, rain showers and lightening, taxes and tulips to the longer and warmer days of grilling, swimming and a more carefree existence. March Madness makes way for the quintessential boys of summer and a crack of the back reminds me spring fever is in the air. All these thoughts put a huge smile on my face and fill my head with peace, joy and HOPE.
Spring is a time for re-birth. A chance to start all over. In spring we plant and nurture and watch our gardens grow. Birds sing a little happier song as they return to the homes they left behind in the fall. We, too, sing a happier song as we fall, once again, in love with life.
Here in “our town” we will have the annual art fair in the walk to attend this weekend. Tomorrow morning is the Parkland farmers market. It will end for the year soon, so if you are a local and have been there to purchase some locally grown fruits and veggies you should do it! It was one of the best things about winter!
If you aren’t feeling as optimistic about life and all it’s possibilities perhaps you need a little “kick” in the butt. If you haven’t yet visited or weren’t able to find the video I suggested yesterday go back to youtube.com and re-enter I LOVE LIVING LIFE I AM HAPPY. If that doesn’t work add this name to the search – Nick Vujicic – again, I warn you that it might be a little tough to watch (especially through tears!) but well worth the message. It will change the way you think and give you hope that all things are possible. Thanks again to Rita for sharing Nick’s video.
After watching Nick’s video, get out there and use that body you were given to it’s fullest. You can’t possibly watch his video and not push yourself just a little harder. With spring in the air and hope in our hearts there is nothing we can’t make happen!
Tune in tomorrow for THE GREAT AMERICAN MEATOUT…
