Happy Monday Morning
If you have a television in your house, you probably have seen the P90X infomercial as it seems to be on every time I flip thru the channels. When my son and his friend first asked my opinion of this program I had no idea how much it would change my body and my brain. Sure, as a fitness instructor and trainer I already knew the importance of mixing things up, but not until I actually tried the daily videos, did I realize how much more I could safely push my own body. This not only resulting in FINALLY losing the 8 pounds I had been struggling with the past few years and making me physically stronger than perhaps EVER before, but also reminded me that I need to push my students and clients harder and encourage them to step further out of their comfort zone, in order to achieve their goals.
This morning I’ll be doing CORE SYNERGISTS on my break from work. It’s one of the videos I most enjoy because it combines so many aspects of fitness and hits ALL the muscles of the body while engaging the core throughout. It keeps my heart rate up and I defintely do NOT get bored.
My husband found my copies of P90X on Craig’s List for 60 dollars. For 14 dvds, I think that was an AWESOME value and I have surely gotten more than my monies worth! So this morning I would like to thank my husband, Kyle, Eric, Tony Horton and the folks at Beachbodies.com for helping to change my body and my brain. I not only HIGHLY recommend the program, but also hope that some locals will come out and try my FXTREME CORE class @ Fusion Fitness and Yoga on Thursday mornings at 10:15 beginning November 19th. I will also be sampling some of this class at the grand opening FOOD FOR FITNESS event on Saturday November 21. Scroll down to read more about that in last week’s blog. You can also jump into my Tuesday night or Saturday morning class at Tamarac Fitness Center which always combines cardio, core work and strength training.
Since my website is still under construction, you can contact me thru the contact page, or email me directly at OOXRSIZER@aol.com if you have any questions.
A special congrats to those that ran the NYC marathon yesterday. I just saw an 82 year old woman on the Today Show who ran it for the 22nd time in a row!!!! Age really is just a number! To her and all the others, thanks for the inspiration. For now, I am off to the gym………..
Great article this morning…maybe I’ll give that P90X a try someday!!
So informative, Bonni. Felt great after your Silver Sneakers today. Now my brain is getting a work-out. One of our Grandsons started a web-site with his Tuft’s friend all about college sports. Doing fantastic. See you soon.
