Yesterday, when I scanned the list of dis-eases and what they might relate to emotionally, I got stuck on Alzheimer’s. We all have our “dis-ease” of choice that we fear like the plague. When we look at the gene pool that we are, we tend to, and rightfully so, be most fearful of the dis-eases that plagued our parents, and their parents before them. My mom and her mom were tiny little packages of physical strength but their brains seemed to decline in very similar ways. As I read the brain-body connect in Hays book, she suggests that a probable cause for Alzheimer’s Dis-ease is “refusal to deal with the world as it is. Hopelessness and helplessness. Anger.” Wow, few people have as hard a time as I do, watching the news. I often say to Mitch, “I can’t watch it because there is nothing I can do about it and it makes me frustrated and sad!” Aware of this connection, I will try to look at the world around me in a different light. Though I may not be able to change the big picture, I can definitely change how I think. Certainly, I can be joyful that though the world around me might be out of control, my world is not. I will remember to be grateful for MY world. Practicing gratitude makes everything better and I will make sure to always keep that in the forefront of my mind. I strongly encourage YOU to look into the possible emotional causes of some of your physical stuff and see if changing the way you look at things, might just change those things!
Sherri, thank you so much for sharing the following link, which I hope will open just as easily on this page as it did in your comment!
Have a great Tuesday everyone. Locals, I will be teaching YogaStretch at 11:30. I have been changing things up at 6 and adding some circuits and a little more intensity. Then at 7, it’s StretchReduction (yoga/Pilates blend). See you there….or here! If you would like to be my guest for any of those classes, let me know!

A friend of mine goes to your Boot Camp and gave me your wetbise. I am excited to have a place to go to have my questions answered! For the past two years I have been trying to change to a healthier lifestyle. My question is concerning the amount of grams of fat to have per day in order to keep losing weight. How much is too much? And what are the best fats? Thanks for your Web site.
