Well, last week I was overly anxious, tonight the new season of Biggest Loser really does begin. NBC, 8pm eastern time.
Our local paper had an article about Jillian Michaels this past weekend, as she led a group at a fitness conference in Miami this past Saturday. All the big guns were there including Tony Horton and Sean T. I still contend P90X was one of the best fitness video programs out there. Anyway, Jillian was promoting her “321 Shred,” program which follows this simple formula: 3 minutes of cardio/2 minutes of strength training/1 minute of abs…repeat for a total of 30 minutes. It does sound like a smart plan for people with just 30 minutes to give to their fitness. It basically keeps your heart rate up the entire time (done properly) and gives you enough time to hit your major muscles and get in some ab work. I wonder if we will see her use this with her team this season. We will know soon enough!
One of the interesting things Jillian said in the newspaper article is that she actually does NOT like working out. That she looks at her watch and can’t wait for it to be over. Mitch felt this was encouraging for others who may not enjoy working out, but can clearly see the value in her body. I think…she may have been stretching the truth. Somehow, I think when you look as good as she does, and you are as passionate as she is about her profession, you can’t help but enjoy the journey. Just saying….
Congrats to Kyle and Nicole for completing their race this past weekend. Just one small step on the way to the Disney half this winter. Thanks, again, for giving me the incentive to begin running again this past summer. I have been so thankful to be back into it and definitely look forward to even better runs as the weather continues to cool off!
