Wedding ring

Taking a break to enjoy this moment in time.  While I haven't gotten all caught up in the hoopla surrounding THE royal wedding, there is nothing like ANY wedding to remind us of the magic and innocence of young love.  This wedding reminds us that magic does happen.  Arriving at the alter, Kate.  Leaving, Princess Katherine.  I love that and wish them a lifetime of love and happiness.

Soon they will stand on the balcony of the Palace for their first kiss.  THAT is a moment that will be frozen in time.  For us, but more importantly for them.

As I take some time this morning to sit and watch THE MOMENT, I share with you a piece that Rita shared with me this week.  I thought it was quite appropriate and hope that you, too, will stop to savor the present.  Royal, special, of even quite ordinary...it is always a gift.  Treasure your gift.

We asked Katrina Kenison, author of the book The Gift of an Ordinary Day, for advice on learning to treasure our daily lives, and she responded, “John Lennon said, ‘Life is what happens when we’re busy making other plans.’ The only moment we have is the moment that is right now. And yet the present moment is so easy to miss, especially if we’re distracted, regretting something that happened yesterday, or already thinking about tomorrow. When my best friend was diagnosed, out of the blue, with cancer, I realized how lucky I was to be blessed with my own perfectly ordinary day, the kind of day she would have given anything to have back again. When we pause long enough to be grateful for what is, we realize that every ordinary day is a gift, and suddenly, instead of taking our lives for granted, we begin to appreciate the beauty of everyday things.”
