Then apparently coconut water is the perfect drink!  While Gatorade and other sports drinks are popular choices for hydration and electrolyte replenishment and Pedialyte is the recommended rehydration drink for children, (and adults) there is another great option and it comes straight from a tree.  Last winter, while at the farmer's market in Parkland, Mitch and I indulged in some fresh coconut water, straight out of the coconut and though I do NOT like coconut, the water was very refreshing.  Drinking from the water directly from the fruit was fun and seemed so tropical, but at the time I had no idea how healthy it was.

Turns out the water extracted from coconuts is so close to the chemical composition of human blood plasma that it has been used, in emergency situations, for intravenous hydration!  Available at health food stores it is a great way to improve electrolyte balance in your body.  Free of added sweeteners, free of chemicals, coconut water has anti-Candida properties and about 15 times the amount of potassium than the leading sports drink.  That is more potassium than that found in 2 bananas!  Besides drinking it "straight," you can also use it for your soup base, making smoothies or steeping tea.  Looks like I am off to Whole Foods again...

Congratulations to the Miami Dolphins for their win yesterday, against Buffalo.  Congratulations to Lady Gaga for her 8 wins last night at the MTV awards!  I am sure all her "little monsters" are just a little bit happier to be just who they are, this morning.

Since my bucket list definitely includes eating as much homemade and homegrown food as possible,  I got busy digging and planting yesterday.  Since my thumb is NOT green, I started this garden with some herbs, flowers, and a pineapple plant.  Mitch and I have been successful at growing our own pineapples, but they get all the nurturing they need from Mother Nature.  I have always kept fresh herbs, but rarely made the committment to move them from their pots into the soil.  Inspired by Lisa's freestyle herb garden, I got on it yesterday.  Should the herbs do well, it's on to veggies.  I welcome and and all advice!

Eat your sweets (potatoes, that is)...drink your water (coconut, too!) --find fitness, peace and balance in your day.  Practice gratitude.  If you need help with this, visit gogratitude.com and join the wave.   Massive amounts of people joining together in gratitude can never be a bad thing!  I am grateful to YOU for stopping in to visit.
