A couple of years ago I made a secure, online donation to the people at Autism Speaks. A day later my credit card was compromised and a couple of small charges were made to some online dating companies.  AmEx picked it up right away and called me to let me know they had cancelled my card.  They assured me that that the timing was probably coincidental and that too many computer savvy thieves are out there just playing with number combinations.    Fast forward a couple of years and I made a phone donation to the Humane Society, also using my AmEx number  and the same day that posted so did a charge to Zappos.com in the amount of $940.00.   Wow, I hope that someone is haunted by the 2 watches, one jacket and shoulder bag they bought using my account.  Perhaps they really needed those items badly?!?!?!    I am NOT at all blaming the people at either charity.  I have to wonder, however, who else gets their hands on the account numbers in the process.  Coincidence?  Makes me wonder.  I will still support both of those fund-raising efforts, just by check in the future (which is what I usually do -this last donation needed to be done in a timely manner, in honor of my little friend, Nate's, 3rd birthday.)

According to a lot of research I have been reading, countries with the highest calcium intake (via dairy) are the same countries with the highest incidences of osteoporosis.  In the countries where calcium is derived from non-dairy items such as dark, leafy green vegetables--the least cases of osteoporosis.  Coincidence?  I don't really think so.  There is a lot of science that supports consuming dairy actually "bleeds"  the calcium right out of our bones.   I'm just saying....

Last night was fun times at the wine tasting.  I do wish I could retain more of the information Neil shared with us about the different grapes and regions.  I don't wonder why I can't.  Between Neil's intensity and the wine, it's no wonder.  Good news is, I do remember some things I learned --bad news is, I did NOT find a white that I can actually say I like.  Carol, glad you joined us!

It's off to get ready for class.  If you still have time at your computer check out thebeautybean.com - Alexis is doing a fantastic job with this online magazine.  It's chock full of fitness, beauty, nutrition tips and much more.  There is something there for most everyone (at least most every female).

Be careful with your credit cards!  Be even more careful with the foods you eat.  WONDER!

Get in some Saturday fun fitness.  More importantly, get in some FUN.  We'll be checking out the band Sweet 903 (Carol, correct me if I got the "suite" number wrong!!!!)  tonight at the walk.  Good weather...good people...live music...sounds like a recipe for FUN.  No wonder about why we love the weekends!
